Why I Haven't Won the Lotto

As I found myself facing another insomniac moment, this time thinking about my value as a teacher, I decided to check my facebook page. You see my work place has been under contract negotiations and late this evening we were given our latest contract proposal, still with a significant pay cut. No, this hub isn't about how frustrated and disappointed I am or that this will drastically change things for me in many ways. This is about my moments on Facebook and how one person's status has explained all of the problems in my life. As I was scrolling down one of my friends had made a comment about the change in zodiac signs. At first I dismissed it. I am what I call an occasional fortune follower. I like to read my horoscope once in a while, I know my astrological sign, I have been known to go to a psychic a few times in my life but I don't base major decisions of my life on whether or not the stars are aligned. I continued to scroll, updating myself on my friends' statuses and noticed another friend commenting about how she was very upset that she was no longer an Aquarius. No longer an Aquarius? Hmmm, maybe there's something to this that I need to check out, I thought.
I googled zodiac signs and discovered not only has my sign changed, but the signs of my entire family have changed. I am not a Sagittarius? How can this be? My late grandmother and I shared the same sign with birthdays just days apart. She was a very proud Sagittarian and she must be rolling over in her grave at this new found information. We celebrated my daughter's fourth birthday today all the while thinking that she was a Capricorn only to find out after I put her to bed that she is now a Sagittarius. Not only have I been following the wrong zodiac sign but my sign is the "new one," Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus? For crying out loud I don't know even know how to say the word. What will this new sign look like? I have been a centaur my whole life. Where will I get my horoscope now? How long before the astrologists starting publishing horoscopes for Ophiuchus? I'm in a panic, lost in this zodiac limbo. If I check the paper or internet horoscopes tomorrow will I have one? I don't know?
It All Makes Sense Now
So as I contemplate my future finances and wonder why I haven't won the lotto, it all makes sense to me now. I have been facing an astrological identity crisis my whole life and didn't even know it. So all of you out there who bought those 2011 calendars for your astrological sign, well I think you need to return it to the store and ask for your money back. As for those of us with birthdays from November 29- December 17th, well I guess maybe next year we will have a calendar for us to choose from. Most people will be able to simple read and learn about their new sign. As for me, I will have to wait for an astrological expert to write my future. Until then, I am on hold.
Shortly I will close my eyes for the second time tonight but this time with new hope. Maybe all of the "problems" in my life have been due to astrological identity confusion. Perhaps this will be the year that all of my financial concerns will be resolved and all of my relationships will be perfect because I will know who I am and am not really compatible with. After all, I have a new zodiac sign. Well, probably not but at least it's fun to think about. I guess only time will tell what my future holds.

I had not heard of the new zodiac upheaval. This also makes my husband an Ophiuchus. He liked being a Sagittarius, being an avid archery deer hunter. I don't think I like this change. Which proves I'm supposed to be a Cancer and not a Gemini! Great hub.
LOL This was a great write offering new facts and humor. Well, does that mean I am no longer an Aries? I hope my sign has not changed-I've taken great pride in being an Aries. I have to agree with Danette, 'once an Aries always an Aries'.

Interestingly, my daughter is a teacher and is an insomniac. One of the things that has been cultivated for thousands of years is Vasu Shastra in India, and more contemporaneously,Feng Shui. Check to make sure that you are not sleeping with your head facing to the north. The East is the most auspicious facing.
Vrajavala, wow, great idea to think about. Just to clarify, do you mean the top of my head facing north or my face facing north because the top of my head does face north when I sleep. I will definately have to rethink my sleeping position. Thanks!
LOL!!! My new zodiac sign is Pisces (been an Aries for 39 years). I've been lucky about numbers. Way back 2000, the great news came from Australia when an advisory stated that I was one of the four winners in lottery,sponsored by the company where I ordered a camera via postal service and filled-up an entry on lotto. But I didn't claim it due to fax problem on ITR (income tax return). Until now, I've been thinking of that moment where it never occur in my wildest dream to win an international lotto draw.
My former elementary classmate who's in the state of Victoria, already told me to send the advisory and she'll see if I can still claim it.

I absolutely loved this hub! It was humorous with just a hint of sarcasm but in a slightly self-deprecating way, not in a bitterness toward the world way (which is too often how sarcasm is done).
I too found out I am a new sign - Gemini - but once a Libra always a Libra I say....
